MGME partnered with Bandai Namco to deliver an unforgettable fan experience in the heart of New York City. The Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuux Activation was a two-day immersive event designed to engage fans and promote the upcoming Gundam series, premiering April 8, 2025, on Amazon Prime. Located in a custom-built 40x80 booth in Times Square, the activation brought the world of Gundam to life through engaging content, interactive experiences, and visually striking displays.
The Experience
Fans were invited into a fully immersive space where they could preview the new series in a branded mini-theater, interact with digital Gundam characters, and explore the Gundam universe through curated displays. The event also featured a model-building workshop where over 3,000 kits were distributed, giving fans a hands-on activity to take home. Life-size and scaled mobile suits stood throughout the booth, offering countless photo opportunities and drawing attention from passersby. Merchandise and collectibles were available at a nearby retail location, with sales surpassing expectations.
MGME’s Role
MGME played a critical role in bringing the activation to life. We collaborated with Bandai Namco on the overall booth design and handled all logistical elements, including power coordination, LED wall setup, lighting, audio, and front-of-house flow. Our team managed everything from load-in and setup to onsite execution and load-out. We also provided technical staff and supported the full production of the immersive experience in close collaboration with the client.
Results
Over the course of the two-day event, more than 6,000 fans attended and interacted with the experience. Social media buzz surged, with over 5,000 organic posts and mentions across platforms. More than 3,000 model kits were distributed, and the retail store adjacent to the activation reported record-breaking sales. From the initial client conversation to full execution, the entire activation was brought to life in just four weeks, making it a highly efficient and successful campaign for both the MGME team and Bandai Namco.
